Model Train Show 2011
An Exciting Annual Event!
Our annual Model Train Show was supposed to happen December 26th and December 27th 2010. Mother nature had other ideas! Because of the blizzard our event was rescheduled for Presidents' Weekend, February 19th and 20th 2011. This time mother nature cooperated, and the train show was a huge success for The Society and our guests. We were pleased to welcome over 500 visitors to the train show which is held in our Birdsall Room. Most of those guests then toured our Museum, and enjoyed our current exhibits, A Reverence For Woodworking In Ocean County, and Bridal Attire 1872 ~ 1957. Many then enjoyed railroad movies that were presented in our Reseaerch center.
We'd like to thank the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders for presenting their railroad layouts and the interesting movies for our guests. We also thank our volunteers and three interns from Montclair State University who staffed the Museum and made the tours possible.
As many of our guests left the Museum they asked our staff, "What's next?" Our answer: Keep an eye on our web site and local media! There's always something neat happening at OCHS!
