You are invited to visit the Society’s recently renovated Birdsall Room, located on the lower level, to see our outstanding permanent new exhibition that features a timeline encompassing Ocean County’s past. (A chair lift is available for those who need help with stairs.) For close to a year, a team of volunteers worked with professional graphic artist and exhibit designer Stan Cain to renovate the display space completely. The room begins with a focus on Ocean County’s first inhabitants, the Lenape, and continues with exhibits of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, natural resources, the World Wars, lighter-than-air dirigibles (including blimps and zeppelins), the Oyster Creek nuclear power station, and the Jersey Shore which attracts both tourists and County residents.
