Library and Archival Holdings

The Research Center offers a wide range of information relating to Ocean County history and genealogy. Holdings include books, vertical files, maps, surveys, photographs, postcards, tavern licenses, road returns, ledgers, newspapers, magazines, telephone books and school yearbooks as well as media items such as videos, DVDs, audio recordings, and more. Many holdings are digitized for on-site use and are accessed through computer stations with summary data, pointers to original documents, and scans of original documents.
